Runway 30L Threshold Reconstruction and Detention Basin Mid Phase 1

The main contract, Runway 30L, is a re-construction of a 3,000 ft x 150’ wide, 16” thick Portland Cement Concrete (PCC) pavement runway on a prepared subgrade and includes site grading, earthwork, lime subgrade stabilization, crushed aggregate base course, asphalt base course, asphalt concrete shoulder pavement, runway edge lights, and pavement marking. The Detention Basin Mid Phase 1 was combined with the Runway 30L project to include the construction of a 30,612 CY detention basin including 3,853 LF of storm drain pipe and approximately 2000 SY of service roads. We received our Notice to Proceed on May 27, 2014 with the start of the Phase A portion of the project on June 11, 2014 and a successful completion on July 8th, 2 days earlier than the scheduled finish date! We are currently in the middle of the demolition phase of the runway and anticipate our first paving activity on October 10, 2014. The Runway 30L Phase is scheduled to complete December 3, 2014.
